Extra-Curricular Clubs at Pilton Infants

At Pilton Infants, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Our vision, Learning for Life, means providing children with opportunities to develop not only academically, but also personally and socially, through a range of exciting and engaging extra-curricular activities. These clubs offer a wonderful chance for children to explore new interests, build confidence, and further develop the core skills and values we nurture through our curriculum.

Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity and create a love of learning, focusing on reading, writing, maths, and the world around them. Similarly, our extra-curricular clubs aim to extend this learning in fun, hands-on ways. Whether it’s through creative arts, sports, or problem-solving activities, these clubs help our children grow and thrive. They also support the development of key interpersonal skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience.

Through our school’s Learning Heroes—Timmy Teamworker, Bobby Bounce Back, Carly Can Do, Carrie Caring, and Billy Bright Idea—we encourage children to embody these important qualities both in and out of the classroom. Extra-curricular activities provide a perfect setting for children to practice these skills in real-life situations. For example, in a team sports club, children learn to collaborate and support one another, just as Timmy Teamworker would. In arts and crafts, they can embrace Carly Can Do’s determination and creativity, or Bobby Bounce Back’s resilience when they try something new and keep practicing until they succeed.

By offering a variety of clubs, we aim to foster well-rounded development, where children learn to think critically, build independence, and show kindness to others—all while having fun and exploring their interests. We see these experiences as part of building the foundations for future success, helping our children grow into confident, capable learners for life.

We hope your child enjoys taking part in these activities, as they are an important part of the holistic education we provide at Pilton Infants.
