Year 1 Maths

In Maths, we have been using number lines to order numbers from greatest to smallest and from smallest to greatest. We explored how to plot numbers on a blank number track by carefully looking at the start and end points to help us work out where each number should go.

Year 1 have been mastering their understanding of teen numbers by placing them onto a blank number line. We began by recapping number lines to 10 and noticed that 5 sits in the middle because it is half of 10. Using this knowledge, we realised that 15 would sit in the middle of 10 and 20. We then used this understanding to help us accurately place the remaining numbers on the number line, building our confidence and number sense.
