This week in Year 1, we explored shading and how to add light and dark to our sketches. The children experimented with different ways of holding their pens and discovered how this affected the shade and texture of their mark making.

We finished with a gallery walk, where the children viewed each other’s artwork and shared what they liked about their classmates’ work, celebrating creativity and effort.
