It has been lovely to see everyone again after the break. This week we have been celebrating Art Week, focusing on ceramics and clay.

We began by learning about ceramics and exploring the work of famous ceramicists from around the world. The children then enjoyed time experimenting with clay and learning how to roll it evenly so it was the same thickness throughout. Once they had mastered this skill, they started creating their own clay tiles by pressing leaves into the clay to make patterns. When the tiles are dry, we will paint them.

Next week we will begin our Design Technology project, where we will be turning boxes into vehicles. If you have any small boxes at home, such as shoe boxes, that we could use in school, please bring them in. Thank you for your support.
