This week in year 1 we have been exploring our seasons and materials in science. We began by looking at the key signs of Autumn and took an Autumn scavenger hunt around school looking for signs of Autumn. We found lots of dried leaves in shades of brown and orange. As well as pine cones and even a conker or two. 

We then introduced the concept of materials. The children had to sort objects based on whether they were made from wood, metal, plastic or fabric. We then went on a material hunt and counted how many objects we could find that were made of these materials. We discovered that many items are made of more than one material.
