Bird Spotting in Year 2

This week, Elliott brought in a bird's nest that he had found while out walking with his family. We looked at it carefully under the camera and spotted lots of different materials that the birds had collected to make it warm and soft. We discussed how important it is NOT to take nests but that this one had fallen out of a tree, so it was okay to pick it up. The class guessed it might belong to a sparrow or robin because of its size. Fox class have enjoyed bird spotting through the window of the classroom. We have a robin that often sits on the fence and watches us at work.
