Children's Remembrance Service

Today, a group of children from Pilton Infants’ Academy joined several other schools from Barnstaple for the annual Children’s Remembrance Service. The event was a solemn occasion, offering students a chance to reflect on the significance of Remembrance Day.

Our students showed great respect throughout the ceremony, paying tribute to those who have served in wars and conflicts. As part of the service, they had the honour of laying a wreath at the War Memorial, symbolising their gratitude and remembrance.

Additionally, the children were invited to select a place to plant a metal poppy, a beautiful and lasting symbol of remembrance. The children embraced the moment with reverence, and their participation in this important event helped highlight the values of respect, remembrance, and community.

We are proud of the Pilton Infants' students for their thoughtful contributions to the ceremony and for being a part of such a meaningful event.
