2D Shapes - Reception
.jpeg)
Over the past few weeks, the children have been exploring the names and properties of a range of 2D shapes, including circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. They have enjoyed identifying these shapes in their environment and discussing their features, such as sides and corners. Building on this knowledge, the children then applied their understanding creatively by designing and producing their own symmetrical patterns. Using printing techniques, they carefully repeated shapes and colours to create balanced designs, developing both their artistic skills and their understanding of symmetry. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they experiment with different arrangements and proudly share their finished work.
