This week, the children have settled in really well and we have been really impressed with their learning behaviours. They have all enjoyed seeing their friends again and getting used to the rules and routines of Year 1.

The children all completed a self-portrait of themselves which is going on the front of their brand-new sketch books which they are very excited about. They thought carefully about the features of our face, such as remembering eyelashes and eyebrows.

We also talked about 'How big is my problem?' and what we can do to try and solve problems on our own first. An emergency may be a fire that we need help for, but if it is a problem that we can solve on our own, it may just be a 'glitch'. We discussed how, with some small problems, we could try to solve them on our own, but then ask an adult if we still need help.
