PARENTS'
How do we keep you up to date on what's happening in school?
Firstly, we encourage everyone to sign up to Parentmail which is our email system where we send out regular updates and our weekly newsletter. If you haven't already signed up please see Sue in the office. If you don't have email access we can send out a paper copy.
Each term our teaching staff sends out year group newsletters to give you a preview of what the children will be learning.
We hold Parents' evenings each term and can also arrange to meet with you to discuss any concerns. If you need to speak to your child's class teacher, please pop in before or after school and if you need more time, the teacher will arrange a time to meet with you.
Reports - there are two reports each year. The Spring term report is to show progress in English and Maths so far and give your child's new targets. The summer report is a more detailed report about the progress, attainment and achievements of your children in all subject areas.
Each autumn, the Reception teachers run workshops on phonics and reading. We also have a 'new to Year 1/2' meeting for parents to introduce their child's new teacher, to give you an idea of the curriculum and to ask any questions you may have.
Our PTFA is also a great way to become involved with the school. If you are keen to get involved, please contact the school office or check out the PTFA's Facebook page. We need lots of support with our events throughout the year such as the Christmas and Summer Fayre. These are vital as they raise a lot of money which goes into fantastic resources and experiences for the children.
If you have any more ideas on how we can communicate with you please let us know via the school email admin@piltoninfants.school or using the suggestion box outside the main office.
