Dear parents and carers,
What a fantastic sportsday we had this week. The children worked hard, had fun and embodied all of our learning heroes. It was fantastic to see so many ‘Timmy Team workers’ and ‘Carly Can Do’s’ working hard for each other and determined to score as many points as they could for their teams. Some of the sprint finishes were incredibly close.
It was wonderful to have such a big crowd to cheer the children on and shows the children what a wonderful community they belong to. Thank you for coming, we hope you enjoyed it. In case you missed it, these were the final scores:

Thank you to Mrs Thomas for organising and to the Pilton Community College students who gave fantastic demonstrations and kept the scores very accurate. Most of these children were former pupils, so it was lovely to see how much they’ve grown and changed.
On Tuesday, we had our second and final transition afternoon. Dropping into all of the classrooms it was lovely to see new relationships starting to grow and to hear from the staff how well the children were settling in.
Today was the final swimming session for Squirrel Class. They have had a fantastic few weeks of swimming and made lots of progress with their skills and particularly confidence. We hope that, for some, this can be the start of their swimming journey if they’re not already having lessons. We were also incredibly proud when the swimming instructors said that Squirrels were the best behaved class from any school that they’ve taught recently. Well done Squirrels!
Next week we have the PTFA Summer Fayre to look forward to on Friday afternoon. The PTFA have a great event planned with lots of stalls and activities. Please see the posters on the noticeboard for more information and if you’re able to help, please contact the PTFA.
We’ve raised a fantastic £361 for the PTFA through the art on a postcard which the children have all made. They look fantastic! Thanks to Mrs Ruddick for organising.
Next Friday, the children will be bringing home their annual reports.
The weather is looking warmer and sunnier again next week, so please remember the named hats, drinks and suncream every day. Normal uniform and footwear, thank you.
